Rather than throwing a net in a plane at right angles to the trajectory these units throw a net so that one of its sides leads and the net follows. Thus a net can be projected horizontally over a flock of birds such as pigeons and allowed to settle on them, it can be projected sideways or vertically into the path of flying birds similarly to drawing a curtain across or from beneath their line of flight. Fish may be caught by projecting a net horizontally over shallow water from either the shore or a boat.
This system can be produced as hand held, vehicle mounted or simply sat on the ground. Firing is manual or by radio. The ideal tool for the capture of congregating birds and small animals . |
